Are 250 engine stands different than SBC stands?
I'm checking out pics of SBC stands and they look the same as mine but I want to be sure.
I think I just scored a 400/400 combo. |

Every engine stand I've used is fully adjustable for any engine out there...

If I am correct, the small I6 and small block perches are the same, the perches for the 292's are way different and then there are also BB.

If you mean the frame to engine mount towers, then they are different. Of course I have a vested interest in say so because I have 2 sets for sale on the parts board.

Re: Are 250 engine stands different than SBC stands?
While they're different, you can still bolt a v8 to them.

Re: Are 250 engine stands different than SBC stands?
Actually I think Powerpro was thinking of an engine stand like what they sell at Harbor freight, etc. So it's 1 to .5

Re: Are 250 engine stands different than SBC stands?
The I-6 stands are definitely different. Where they bolt up to the frame is different so that they are more rearward. A V-8 will bolt up but it will be closer to the fire wall.

Re: Are 250 engine stands different than SBC stands?
the I6 stands are definately different they sit in the rear set of holes like mentioned above. However they are great if you want to swap from a v6 to a small block without changing driveshaft, moving the trans, etc. That's what I did in mine.
