ART strong arms kit 67sb. Good or bad idea?

I am new to the board and have been able to get TONS of resourceful info. Thank you all!!!!

I recently purchased the ART strong arms kit for my 67 short bed. My truck has all stock suspension minus the lowering springs. Im running 500+hp to the wheels and Im wondering if this purchase was a good idea before I start to install.. not sure if cutting into the frame is such a good idea And ive been told that the stock truck arms are hard to beat. Can anyone help???

You can't go wrong with the ART arms. If you decide to upgrade to a drop member in the future you can still run the ART arms.

Why would you need to cut the frame?

Its the rear strong arms kit and Im going to have to cut a small c-notch into the frame. I have mixed feelings on c-notching.

A c-notch will allow the suspension to travel a bit more so the ride should be nicer. Why are you worried about cutting into the frame?
Ride Tech stuff is quality stuff not only material wise but also well engineered. I don't think you will be disappointed with that kit.

Re: ART strong arms kit 67sb. Good or bad idea?

I recently had the 73-87 version installed on my 77 Cheyenne. I had a custom built weld in C-notch before and was concerned as well. After looking at the quality of the notch, and the bracing that goes with it I feel it is very strong.

If you are really concerned, weld it in rather than bolting it up.

Or.... bolt it in & then stitch weld around the perimeter of the c-notch bracket.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
