Just got an '86 C10

Well after my '94 mustang picked a fight with a '90 buick and well...it's only half a mustang now...anyhow, I bought an '86 C10, it needs work, but I only shelled out $850 CAD for the truck, so spending some money to repair it is now big deal.

It's a plain Jane C10 longbox, 305 (I think), I need to do some body work, rocker panels, cab corners, doors and rear fenders.

Cab Corners are only about $15 each, and I think rocker panels are about the same. So for the most part, body work will be simple, cut, grind, weld, grind, lather, rinse repeat

But the interior...it's lacking to say the least. I NEED a new dash, and I would rather get a real dash, and not just a cover. I'm also looking for buckets, new door panels, visors...and a headliner would be nice (can it be added if the truck didn't come with one?)

Besides wreckers and the buy and sell, where should I start looking for parts, are there any good online sources.

Thanks.

ps The front bumper of a Mustang is no match for the rear bumper of a buick

Welcome! Glad to see you come over from the Dark Side.
There's a pretty good number of Canucks here. Got any pictures of the truck?

I'll take some pictures tonight (crosses fingers) I seem to always forget to take before pictures.

My first car, a 1984 2.2 Charger that I had for 4(?) years I have ZERO pictures of ... and it's dead now

My second car, a 1986 Mustang I only have AFTER, AFTER pictures of, I bought it, restored it, and never took a picture of it until it burst into flames...damn block heater cord shorted I think b/c it wasn't running at the time.

My third car, the 1994 Mustang, I have pictures of it...I just need to get an after picture when I got to the insurance place hopefully this week (This car was just bad luck, it was keyed, rear ended, and the rear window shattered all in two months, after that was fixed I unfortunately wrote it off...oops)

...sadly I've written off all three vehicles

But since you should find flaming ford pics humorous

My first car was a 1998 Camaro SS. 326rwhp/340rwtq with aftermarket airlid, K&N, exhaust cutout, Hurst shifter, descreened/P&P'd MAF. Bought it new when I was 19. It was my pride and joy until I had a head-on with a Dodge Caravan. I know what it feels like to lose one in an accident. They're better off in a scrapyard. They never run the same after a major wreck.

Hehehe, I'm gonna avoid those.

I do have a "weight reduction" hole in the bumper from a CB antenna.

I'm getting an error loading the link posted to another thread but www.classicindustries.com has a pretty good catalogue you can download in .pdf format. Has new dashes and a slew of other stuff.

Thanks for the tip

I allready know the first things to be done are the body work, exhaust and hopefully bucket seats...well actually I'll probably put the stereo in first, but you have to have music while you work :p

Looks like you gots some good rust spots on the side there. or as most say body cancer. still looks like a very good project. you should have no problems getting parts to fix that,

Gibble, i jsut bought an '86 C10 as well. mine is factory 2 toned, being the same color blue as yours, with a darker blue stripe. mine is a Silverado, with every option but power windows and locks (that will change soon) found mine at a local car lot, where it had been purchased new, and then set on the lot for consignment. one owner, 114,000 mi 5.0/700R4 truck. i just got the new trans in today, and should be putting the pipes on it in the morning. hopefully my "spare" 700R4 isnt trash.
