Gas Tank Suggestions???

What gas tanks from other vehicles have you swapped into your trucks. I've found a lot of information on the blazer tanks, but are there any others that people have used?

Re: Gas Tank Suggestions???

hey folks,

Im about to order a gas tank kit from lmc that includes tank straps sending unit lock ring gasket j bolts

is this everything I need minus filler and hard lines going to fuel pump?

and should I order suburban lines or should I just get autozone lines and bend em myself? (got alot of that already)

vas,

Is it thinner than the blazer tank, top to bottom? Did you happen to measure the width? My frame is apx 30" inside.

TIA

Dave

Re: Gas Tank Suggestions???

it is thinner than the blazer tank, side to side it fits perfectly between the frame rails. the cross member directly behind the diff will need to be squared up(they are slanted from the factory) and the bottom edge of that same cross-member will need to be trimmed off. the rear most crossmember will need to be slid to the rear most end of the frame rails and bolted into place. when i got my from the local yard i grabbed the straps too, they will work just fine.

Thanks, do you happen to know what it measures front to back? My truck is back-halved and there are two 2x3 crossmembers behind the axle. I could move the front one forward if need be.

Thanks again for your reply.

Dave
