Re: Front subframe info

The 73 stuff will bolt up to your front crossmember use the entire drag ( center) link tierod ends as well as the idler arm and pitman arm. It will all bolt on lime they were made for it, the only issue you are going to have is bending some new hard lines for the brakes. Your current lines attach to the brake hoses at the rear of the crossmember while the disc front end will attach the brake hoses to the hard lines in front of the x member. You will have to make some hybrid hard lines for it to work. You will also need the mastercylinder and proportioning valve from the 73 for the disc brakes to function properly. On the rear if your truck is leaf springs, the rear end should simply bolt in place, if your truck has coils, you will have to get a kit, or fab it up yourself, to change the 73 rear end mounting points to bolt up to the trailing arms.

Re: Front subframe info

Oh yeah, use the upper and lower a arms from the 73 too, the ball joints are different and the a arms will bolt in place of your current ones.

Re: Front subframe info

If you will get the master cylinder and all of the lines and prop valve from the 73, it will all bolt in without making any lines.

Then, unbolt the upper and lower arms from the 73 and bolt them to your earlier crossmember. Change the entire steering linkage from side to side and you're done.
