Had to take it back out and do some tinkering. It works kinda like a door on a entertainment center, to close push in and it locks in place, push again and it pops out. I didn't like that because it held the front out 3/8's of an inch from the dash. Didn't look right. I pulled it apart, took the spring and lock out. Now it goes against the rubber bumpers like it should. It has some good resistance so it won't be sliding in and out by itself. I took several pics of it for those interested in how it mounts up and what not.

Got a few other things bolted up in the short goofing time I had. Tailgate hardware that goes on the back of the tub and wiper motor.

Heres the spring and plastic piece I pulled out.

I picked that up in the before time in the long long ago. It seems they've went up quite a bit from when I bought mine. Maybe one of the vendors here can get it to ya cheaper.

Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...

It seems like I've been spending more time looking for parts then installing them. It took me an hour to find part of the ignition switch assembly, 20 minutes getting the old cylinder out, and 60 seconds to install it. It took 2 days for me to find my dash pad. Talk about stressin', lol. I knew I kept the original, it was in great shape. Tore through 2 storage buildings and 2 garages 3 times each. Yep, 3rd times a charm. I finally found it tonight in the box with my rear bumper. We always seem to put stuff up so we won't loose it don't we, lol. I used Duplicolor vinyl paint on the dash pad. Cleaned it, scuffed it with 400 and cleaned it again. Hopefully the paint holds up. Got the e-brake installed along with the ignition assembly and cig. lighter.

Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...

Got the front fender seal set put together today. Oh what fun. First I tried to epoxy it together. That was a huge waste of time. It just wouldn't stick. The kit came with some huge staples but I don't have the tool for those (thats why the epoxy). So I ended up getting out the hammer, needle nose pliers and a drill. Got the staples in and finally got it done.

I just pulled the psgr side fender seals over the weekend - I was wondering how you would repair and replace them.
