Blend door issue? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Ok, my mother's truck is an 04 silverado, base model and she's having some trouble with the driver's side blend door. It's apparently stuck on cold. I replaced the control unit and that didn't fix the problem so I'm assuming it's the blend door. I don't know anything about these. Can someone fill me in on what the common problems are, how to go about fixing it or checking it out or at least point me in the right direction?

Her check engine light came on a few days ago as well but after trying 2 different places to read the code, her port is apparently not connected to the computer anymore. Nobody could establish a connection any thoughts on this as well?
