Is this the plate that mounts to the frame and then the carrier baearing mounts to it? If so mine have bolts with nuts?

Re: PLEASE HELP-Bracket that holds carrier bearing on drive shaft

It is under the back half of the cab. The plate on top has clearance holes for 3/8" and the bracket around the shaft is tapeed for 3/8" nc! The bolts will not tigten up nor is there enough room to drill and tap for 7/16!
Do i have to remove the entire drive shaft or?

Re: PLEASE HELP-Bracket that holds carrier bearing on drive shaft

edco joe thanks for the offer i will let you know. What i have found out this is a new unit (by previous pwner) and could it possibly be METRIC bolts and that why 3/8 nc will not tighten up? Going to stop into local bolt supplier in the a.m. ,what size is just a little bigger than 3/8? pitch?
