Re: Got Her Back From Paint Shop

68Stepbed,

Yep, I plan to put new tires and rims. I'm still debating what size, but will likely go with the Torque Thrust II's. I did a 2.5" spindle drop up front and a 4" spring drop in the back. I'm not sure if I will go 18's or 20's. But it will be a little while. The tires are practically new. The truck did not move for three years while I was in Okinawa. And money is tighter now that I paid for the paint...lol

Re: Got Her Back From Paint Shop

Dan, TTII's would be SWEET!! I personally wouldn't go any bigger than 18's myself, but it's not my truck either. Be sure to post some pics when you get new rollers.

Looks great. Is that downtown L'worth? Looks like the stuff on the east side of K-7.

Hounddogs,

Yep. The stable picture was taken on post...back near the disciplinary barracks. Then we drove out the gate and just looked around town. My wife has several hobbies...photography is one of them.

Re: Got Her Back From Paint Shop

Looks great! Congratulations! Paint is probably one of the most expensive/hardest to get done part of restoring. It's hard finding a good paint and body shop that won't break the bank yet takes pride in what they do. Most shops won't even look at resto work-around here anyways. It's easier for shops to replace and paint a bumper cover, fender and hood on a newer car and charge $6k and take a day to do. Then they look at a resto project and give you a $12k price estimate. Here in NM it's near impossible to find a trustworthy paint and body source.
