air ride shockwaves?

who is running them? Is there a big difference between those and a regular air bag?

Main difference is cost, and packaging. The shockwave takes up less room because the shock is incorprated into the bag (like a coil-over). They run $900 a pair for the single adjustable versions.

Re: air ride shockwaves?

Like Nate said, with ShockWaves the air spring is built around an adjustable shock which allows for good performance and eliminates the potential need to relocate the shock. Down side of a SW when compared to a convoluted bag is a) price and b) limited travel.

Although they bolt up like a shock would, they are generally mounted where the coil spring would go. Think "air ride meets coil over".

Re: air ride shockwaves?

From what I've read they are mainly popular and used with pro-touring cars/trucks and trucks/suvs with torsion bars. I run them on the front of my burb as well (see signature link).

I have them on a the front of my nova and on my 51 gmc i dont like them, but i have them on the rear of my crewcab and like them, I think the most important part for me is were you like your ride to be, and how its set up ,if you like to drive low and they are set up wrong you will hate em

Re: air ride shockwaves?

I'll stick to bags... Seen some of issues with the shock waves... Bags are normally trouble free if installed properly and a hell of a lot cheaper!!
