Ive seen alot of small blocks and ls motors with the dropmember but i was wondering if the big block guys had any problems with motor placement with the porterbuilt dropmember?

Re: BB with dropmember?

The BB Dropmembers have a different/taller motor mount to help with clearance of the rack steering.

Send Nate a PM.
I'm sure he can answer all your questions.

Are you having "problems" with the placement, or just curious about running a BBC? Let me know so I can help you out!

Re: BB with dropmember?

I used hedman part #68610. They are a 3/4 length header. The BBC fits tight ... but it fits. I had to use a triangle shaped air cleaner to clear the rear hood brace and I have an hei distributor that fits really tight to the firewall and I haven't tried to remove it yet. Check out my build thread there are a few engine pics. http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=365912

in order to use a dropmember on a 1 ton do we have to get these arms or will the stockers be able to bolt up as well?

The factory lower 3/4 ton and 1 ton arms won't bolt up to the Dropmember. So these would be in your future if planning to run a Dropmember. The factory uppers will work just fine!

Re: BB with dropmember?

I had to modify my after market oil pan to clear the rack and pinion. I have a cowl induction hood but Im curious if its going to enough for the air scoop I have added. But everything is possible with a some tinkering and patience. Here a couple pic's...

We have had a few guys make payments until the balance was paid in full... then we built the product and shipped it on its way.
