show me your engine driven compressor
i'd like to see your edc setups. i scored 2 yorks at the jy today for 30.00, and plan to use one on my next project. i am planning on a gen 3 5.3 or 6.0 drivetrain and will build my own brackets. the only one that i've seen was driven from an altered double pulley from the alternator. any links to conversions and parts would be greatly appreciate.

Kilby sells double-pulleys to use with serpentine systems. Or you might be able to simply purchase the serpentine clutch and re-route your belt. Good luck. I have a York 210 that will go in my K5's engine bay sooner or later...

sorry, just read replys. i disassembled them for inspection and/or rebuild if necessary. i will get pics at first chance though. the york compressor came standard on fords from the mid sixtys till 81, some volvos til 81, and some AMCs, and chryslers (don't know what years). they are the only ones that have a crankcase to hold a lubricant and are capable of 4 cfms @ 90 psi and up to 8 cfms. these are really robust units for this conversion. they are also very simple, and easy to rebuild. all the work is in mounting the compressor. years ago (telling my age) i replaced bearings and clutches in them during a/c repairs, but this will be a first for this setup and will "out-blow" just about all the electric units on the market.
for the unknowing, in the seventys and eighties we used the self leveling compressors found on big GM cars (caddys, buicks, oldsmobiles) to supply our predecessor to the air bags (air shocks). this unit can be setup to inflate and deflate from the drivers seat, and all you need to purchase is a double rocker switch to make this conversion. this came in real handy on my 62 impala SS, cuz i usually rode with the rear bumper tail draggin, and when i added a few friends all i had to do was flip a switch to maintain ride height. these compressors are still plentiful in the jy for a few bucks. i sure miss that impala, sold it in 86 when i got married

i just bought a york and the mounts off a small block chevy , the guy i bought them off of said he thought it was factory in a chevy van. the compressor mounts strait up and down in the front of the engine. i plan on making copies of the brackets.

The 4X4 guys also use them since they air down their tires for better off road traction.Some of the 4X4 magazine websites may have some info on them.
