Engine Idle Trouble
I have a 1995 Suburban, K2500 with a 7.4L engine (this was the closest forum fit). When the engine is cold it idles at about 1500 rpm and when warm it is idling about 1000 rpm and will move at 8 to 10 mph on the level. There are no engine codes, have replaced the throttle posistion sensor, throttle control valve and engine coolant sensor to no avail.
Any suggestions on reducing the engine idle? |

Re: Engine Idle Trouble
Vacuum leaks? Ive found that its the throttle body base plate gasket alot of the time, cracked or broken vacuum lines, leaking intake gaskets, leaking brake booster, Throttle blades not closing. this belongs in the 88-98 forum.

Re: Engine Idle Trouble
clinebarger beat me to it. Like he said, it sounds like a possible vacuum leak. Here is the 88-98 Group:
