Upper trim on SWBF

I was able to find a set of good driver quality upper trim for my 69SWF. I hate to make all the necessary holes since my truck did not originally come with this trim. Is it possible to install soley by using the special 3m backed clips? I'm thinking of 4clips for the fender, 4 for the door, 2 for cab corner and 6 for the bed per side. Has anyone else done this using only stick on clips?

Re: Upper trim on SWBF

Im kinda interested in this as well. I just ordered all new upper and lower trim form my 1969 swb. My truck didnt come it as well so there is no holes to mount. Although I dont mind drilling the holes... a 3M mounting does sound interesting...

Re: Upper trim on SWBF

I know you hate to drill holes, but this trim isn't getting any easier to find or cheaper. You would hate for it to fall off going down the road at some point. You could probably get by with just the 3m, most trim nowadays is 3m stuck on, but it wasn't aluminum, and the 3m tape runs the hole distance of the trim pieces whereas these are just small one inch areas for clips. You might be better off buying more 3m clips to put on them if you want it to stay. Trevor

Re: Upper trim on SWBF

Your trim will not hug close to the body if you use just 3M sticky clips. You need the metal ones on at least the front and back of the trim that bolt into the body.
