Where to buy E-Brake parts

I am just about to tackle the drum brakes in the rear of my 1/2 ton. I have all the parts I need, except for the E-brake parts (parking brake lever, arm, spring, cable) I think I can find the rear cables from a vendor, but I can't seem to find the other E-brake stuff anywhere. I have all of the other springs, self-adjuster kit, etc. Anybody know if they have the E-brake stuff at the parts houses? Thanks.

Re: Where to buy E-Brake parts

Yup, I got all the springs, self adjusting kit, shoes, drums from Napa. But they looked at me like I was retarded when I asked for the E-brake parts. Every store and vendor on earth seems to carry the springs and adjusting hardware, but no e-brake parts. Same in the LMC catalog and the Truck shop and Brothers.

I need this white bracket, as well as the red bar in the middle of the second picture.

Scott, I had no luck at the parts houses for anything other then shoes, drums and springs when I was looking for my '72. Might try the parts board.

Re: Where to buy E-Brake parts

The spreader bar is a catalog item, but the cable lever I haven't seen listed but I wasn't payin attention either.
Napa had all that stuff, and it was cheaper than the resto shops. (Same brand name on the parts)

Re: Where to buy E-Brake parts

Do you remember what Napa called it or a part number? I have everything in the pic except those 2 things, and it appears they don't have it. I don't understand why they would have everything else but that. I will do some more looking cause I can't believe that nobody sells this stuff.

Re: Where to buy E-Brake parts

I'm just going thru my rear drums also, and while I don't need those particular parts, carquest has had everything I've needed, and made in America, to boot. (for the most part) All that being said, I've seen these parts listed on many vendor sites. I'll try to find some links.

Thanks, I haven't had a problem finding those, but the E-brake stuff seems to be elusive. I don't need everything in the pic above, that stuff can be bought anywhere....just the E-brake lever in the first pic, and the red spreader bar in the second pic.

Re: Where to buy E-Brake parts

The Napa website doesn't really get down to the small parts like that, so hopefully you have a store nearby you so that you can swing by and just have them dig through the catalogs behind the counter. At my store, I go directly to the comercial counter. Since the people at the front counters don't really "get it" right away.

I looked at the LMC catalog, and your spreader bar is on page 152.

Thanks, I saw that one too. They list it for a 3/4 ton though Are they the same as 1/2 ton?

Cool, thanks for the info! I was hoping it was the same. I will do some more searching to see if I can come up with a kit. If I am unsuccessful, I will hit you up for those spreader bars. Thanks again! Do you know if the lever in the first pic is the same also? If so, I might be able to find a 3/4 ton parts truck and rob it.

Re: Where to buy E-Brake parts

I found this one, but it's for a 3/4 ton also.

So here's a question-Are all chevy 11" brakes the same? There are many many brake parts at inline tube, but they are all for cars.

I would bet that part would be the same, since it's the cable that is either shorter or longer to account for the larger diameter drums.

That is what I was thinking too. Thanks for the help. I might be picking up a 3/4 ton parts truck soon...if so I will be tearing it down and will check out the rear brakes.

Scott,
I got the parts off. I can ship them out to you if you like or I am planning on going to SoCal around the 19th and I can take them down with me along with the bed sills
