Basket Case Muncie M21 for $ 175.00
Men..........I have a local guy that has offered to sell me a Muncie M21 trannie for $ 175.00. The caveat is that it is in pieces and will need to be rebuilt. Do you think it's a good deal?

Great deal! You can upgrade it to the internals of a M-22 for cheap.
Check out his Muncie stuff. http://www.tbtrans.com/index.htm

I would pass on the M-21 in pieces and just buy a new one with the super case and all the upgraded M-22 guts if you really want a Muncie.

Re: Basket Case Muncie M21 for $ 175.00
Depends on what parts need to be replaced as to whether or not it's a good deal. Muncie parts (or complete transmissions for that matter) are not cheap at all, and unless you can build it yourself plan to dish out at least $200-300 for labor. For the price of a new super case m22 you can get a tko500 and have a stronger trans with overdrive and better gear splits. There's $.02 from a guy with a M21 in his truck.
