wtf?

they will bolt up to ANY sbc/bbc.

will work with ANY tcase from the t221 to the np 203 205 208 231 241, with the proper STOCK adapters.

intsalled from 69-91.

mech clutchs till 85, hydro after, doesnt affect the tranny at all, is only the bell housing.

the only 2 real changers are in the LATE 80's when the changed from a short 10spline to a long 32spl out put for the aluminum tcases and the round pattern 205's. and they changed the top to aluminum in 88ish.

granny gear was never syncro'd afiak.

gm used the 465/205 all the way up to 91.

depends on what you want to do or swap to.

you can swap an entire setup if you want, or swap a rear output if you feel like getting dirty or have a particular case you want to use.

far and a way the most versitile trans gm ever used. can be found on 2wd half tons, dump trucks, crew cabs, dually's and 4x4, hell the only thing they didnt come in was cars.

for his 1977 only 1972-1980 will work thats wtf 81 went to 35 spline and a different adapter 1971 you have to change the output shaft nuts to fit in to his adapter. so like i originally stated 1972-80 will work. thanks for all the useless information about all that won't work with his 1977 t-case.

uh, 35 spl is 2wd ONLY!!

there are no OUT PUT SHAFT NUTS on a 4x4, again 2wd ONLY

i have pulled many 10spl 465s out of newer than 82

Sorrry 2tons, I've gotta agree with bigv. The 205 I bought last weekend came out of an 87 K3500 (took it out myself). It had the SM465 true enough BUT, the transfer had a 32 spline female input...SOOO, the 465 musta had a 32 male output. Not 10.
