Christmas in July

Look what Santa brought for my engine. It looks like this now, but just wait:

Before:

New parts (100Amp Alt from March Perf, Power Steering Pump, AC Compressor and new Dakota Digital instrument cluster)

Got a busy weekend ahead of me but I'm excited about it.

Re: Christmas in July

OK... here's the mock up.

Time to do some detail work and put the radiator back in.

I'll tackle the dash this week.

Re: Christmas in July

OK... Finally got some time to work on the truck and finish up the instrument panel install.

Before:

After:

Still have to hook up the sender to the VSS so my speedo will work. Everything else works though.

Thanks Guys!

Yes, it was easy... I went to AllDatadiy.com and downloaded the schematic for the cluster.. a snip here and there, and a couple hours, pretty simple. My biggest problem was after I got the new panel installed and started the engine, it ran for a few seconds and died. I couldn't get it to start. So I tore it all back down to find the problem. Still no luck, then, I looked down on the front of the dash and saw that the fuel tank switch was in between left and right. Doh! Must've bumped it putting the dash pad in. Hard to get fuel to the carb when the pump is confused as to where to get the fuel from.

I want one of those billet bezels from captkaos to finish off the look, hook up the speedo and it'll be done.

Ken

Re: Christmas in July

I keep debating on putting the money into the gauges. I love the look and readout, but I really love my old analog clock.

Re: Christmas in July

Yea.. My neighborhood here in KY is in a "Speed" zone and the truck knows it!

Everything came from either Summit or Jegs... Valve Covers are Proform GM covers and wire holders were some aftermarket ones that Summit had too. If you want part numbers, let me know.

Thanks!!

Ken
