Re: Got a new Burb, need some info...
That's awesome! But how do you run the vents to the back? And where do you get this at? Thanks.

Re: Got a new Burb, need some info...
Hey,
I do not have any seats in mine other than two front buckets. I use it to haul stuff. That is what we were discussing earlier. What kind of rear unit to put in. You can tee into the lines and add another evaporator in the back somewhere. I do not know of any after market rear units. Go online and search Vintage Air and then you can find who is your local dealer. Dan

What are your plans for the ceiling headliner? If you replace with the original cardboard, where do you get it?

Re: Got a new Burb, need some info...
Hey MM100,
I was thinking of going to a headliner shop and having a cloth liner put in. If not that, I'll probably get sheets of ABS plastic and cover them instead of cardboard. If anyone else has ideas on headliners let me know. Thanks, Dan

Re: Got a new Burb, need some info...
Hey,
Latest update to Burb. I put in a small cap HEI, new wires and plugs. Put on a rebuilt Q-Jet carb. I put heavy rubber matting in the rear so things don't go sliding around. The kind you stand on in a restaurant kitchen. Working on getting the disc brake front end ready to swap. More pics coming in a few days. Dan

Dan,
Very cool, what are the seats from, look like a GMT800 suburban/Tahoe? How did they mount up and did you wire in the electrics too? |

Hey Rokcrln,
Thanks for the input on the headliner. I was thinking maybe some ABS sheet plastic could be used and covered also. Dan

Re: Got a new Burb, need some info...
Hey Scottydawg,
The seats are out of a 1999 Chevy extended cab. I found that you just have to have the two orange wires and the black ground. Then all the seat adjustments and the heat will work. I am putting the heat on fused switch/relays so the wiring is protected. As for the fit, all I had to do was use a 1"x2" square tubing to shim up the back two mounts to make the seat sit right. The height and the adjustments all work within range great. I even had room for the console but had to do away with the console mounting bracket. I just made a couple of angle mounts for that. Thanks, Dan

Re: Got a new Burb, need some info...
Hey,
Just wanted to let everyone know how much I appreciate this board and the people you meet here. I bought a second row seat from Dullyjams, he was making a trip to Kansas City from Annapolis and offered to bring the seat with him. We worked out a meeting place and you would not believe that we both arrived at the meet within a minute of each other. It was 12 hours on the road for him and 2 1/2 for me. Anyway, I want to say thank you to James for the kindness and let everyone know what a great guy he is. Thank you James !!! Well, I dropped the seat off this morning and should have it back in a couple of weeks. It is being recovered to match the front buckets I already have in the Burb. I'll post some pictures when I get it back. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving, Dan

Re: Got a new Burb, need some info...
Hey OldGold,
Thanks, The insulation made a BIG difference. When i got the Burb you could hardly hear yourself think. Now, I can talk on a cell phone while driving, listen to music without having to have it so loud it shakes everything and even the tire noise is not noticeable with the windows up. I fully recommend putting the insulation in. It was a little pricey but well worth it. Dan

Re: Got a new Burb, need some info...
Hey James,
Here is a picture of the rear seat after I had it covered to match the front seats that were out of a 1999 Extended Cab Chevrolet Pickup. Now, just to get it installed. I have the arms off now, I bead blasted them and have to paint them. Then I should be ready for the install on the seat. I think I may try to make it flip up in case I need more room to load things in the back. Thanks, Dan
