Re: bell flower pipes?

Covico still makes a white 3 hole steering wheel out of stainless steel.

http://shopping.rexmar.com/Merchant2...de=covico3bolt

I haven't seen one in real life, so I can't tell if the rim is foam or hard rubber. They look very shiny to be foam. They're designed for use in boats, just like they were in the 60's, but they fit fine in a car or truck if you use the correct Grant or Superior adapter for your column.

Per the following link it appears the Moon wheel has been discontinued and sold out. Seems hard to believe with so many people wanting them.

http://www.mooneyesusa.com/moon-clas...te-p-1310.html

These white hot rod style wheels do come up occasionally on Ebay. You can improve you chances of finding one if you are dilligent and put a lot of effort in it. Try looking for steering wheels using the following search terms in whatever combination works:

white, grant, superior, covico, hot rod, custom, vintage, etc. When all else fails search all the steering wheels. Many times the seller doesn't know what the wheel is, particularly with Covico wheels which are not marked.

Bear in mind Covico wheels have a dish of about 2 3/8 inches, while Grant and Superior wheels are approximately 4 1/2" deep, depending on diameter. This may be important to your installation depending on seating, column, etc.

If you do find one, look at the pictures closely. If it looks pitted and rusty it probably looks worse in person. All of these wheels were very cheaply made with poor chrome that doesn't hold up well. If the seller indicates "a few minor pits that should polish right out" - you might as well pass unless you don't care if it's rusty. If the chrome is gone far enough to cause pits in the steel underneath, the pits aren't going to polish out. One nice feature of the new Covico wheels is they are stainless steel, so rust will never be a problem.

Mooneyes is sold out.

Streamline may have the wheel you are looking for.

Re: bell flower pipes?

Mine wheel had a black grip and I painted it white, holding up so far. Cheaper than buying a new wheel.

Joe, that picture of your truck under all that snow! That looks like a picture from my part of the country.
