Wiper Arm Issue--Passenger Side Sticks

I have a 1966 Chevy Stepside.
I have installed NEW (LMC) Wiper Arms, Wiper Blades and a Wiper Transmission Arm.

My problem is that when i drive over 35mph and my wipers are running, the passenger side wiper arm swings out too far and becomes STUCK on the edge of the window.

When i stop and push the passenger side wiper arm back over the edge, the wipers perform normally.

Any thoughts on how to correct this problem?
(would a stiffer spring on the wiper arm help?)

I'm open to suggestions...

Thanks,

Tom

Re: Wiper Arm Issue--Passenger Side Sticks

It sounds like one of two problems. First, the wiper blades need to be near or touching the lower windshield gasket in the parked position. If they are up 2-3" when parked, they may simply be swinging out too far and getting caught.

If they already rest on the gasket when parked, it sounds like the transmission arm is going over center and can't pull itself back into position without help. If this is the case something is wrong with the clock position of the wiper motor, or the wiper tower, or the linkage is damaged or may be incorrect for the application.
