help with 61 c10 rearend - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

can anyone tell me what this set up is on my 61 c10
is the 2nd spring just a helper
i have a set of 3 inch drop blocks i want to install
if i install drop blocks will it affect the shock in the rear
any help

The spring above the axle /U-bolt is an addon, and the blocks should just keep the shock where it is in relation to the trailing arm but lower than the axle by the thickness of the block
