Headlight Question????
How old are your headlights. I have one newer Halogen light but I believe the other 3 may be original or very close to it.

Re: Headlight Question????
The GMC original headlights will have T3 in the center of the glass, not sure on Chevy. If it says Halogen...you do not.

Re: Headlight Question????
T3 is oriinal, both chevy and GMC. GMC would be more likely to have one or two originals... the high beams.

Re: Headlight Question????
I have one lamp brighter than the other three on my GMC, which I believe I changed just after I bought the truck in '87. So the other three could be original.

Re: Headlight Question????
don't assume... go out and look in the center of the bulb on the glass. If it says T3 it is an original style bulb... if it doesn't... it isn't.

Re: Headlight Question????
Thanks for the tip. I will check in the spring. Right now the truck is covered up and stored for the winter. I would like to change them out for some halogens anyway. Got caught in some rain in September coming home at night from a car show, and I couldn't see a thing, the lights were so dim. :0)

Re: Headlight Question????
if its packed away for the winter, then I retract my comment.
There's things you can do to make even a 40 year olf T3 shine bright. Look in the FAQ thread I have posted in the electrical forum on relays... it helps more than you'd think. |
