Re: tonnual cover

Extang - Blackmax 1-800-877-2588. Call this number they are the manufacturer. - they will tell you where to get one locally and the SRP. I bought mine retail for less than $150. They have long bed and short bed. The retailer may tell you they are not available- tell them to call the factory. Aluminum frame - no holes to drill. Soft cover snaps to frame.

Big Al it appears to sit even with the bed rails? Is it fiber glass or vinyl?
Thanks,

Re: tonnual cover

Hey guys, the man said he had a stepside. Fleetside tonneau covers are plentiful. It's harder to find a stepside cover especially for a longbed like mine. I'm not saying that the places suggested above can't help but I had to have mine custom made at an upholstery shop locally. Fiberglass or any hard covers are virtually non-existent for steppers.(At least longbeds)

Re: tonnual cover

I think those companies make Stepside "tonneau" covers. You cam always do the traditional thing and have an upholstery shop make you one. But,the store-bought ones are nice with the clamp-on frame.

Re: tonnual cover

The problem is the bed top rail is backwards with the steppers.
You have to drill with some kinds of covers which is a no go in my book.

There is a place in kansas or kentucky that custom make them.
Wish I could remember the name......

Re: tonnual cover

big_al_71 that is a nice looking cover. How does it work around the area that steps in the bed rail right at the tailgate? Do you have any closeup shots of the transition from tonneu cover to bed rail? Thanks.

I dont have closeup picts, the cover goes up against the tailgate but it is not water tight there is a small gap in between only at the tailgate. I could take picts tonight if you need me to. The bedcover has an aluminum frame that goes all the way around and it meets agaisnt the inside of the bed rails.

Re: tonnual cover

Thanks big_al, If you have time more pictures would be great. Is it possible to pull back the vinyl portion from the frame to access the front of the bed fairly easy? I have a low profile tool box I need to get into from time to time. The tonneau cover I have now hinges like yours but it also unsnaps around the perimeter, that way I can still get to my tool box without taking the frame off. I will attach a pic.
