Re: stock BB manifolds?

Bolt patterns are identical, but head port size and shape may differ.

If I am not mistaken, 396 has D or oval ports, and the 454 has rectangular ports. Aftermaket haeds usually have rectangular ports that are larger.

What type of heads do you have?

Re: stock BB manifolds?

Im thinking it has stock heads since the previous owner said he was running manifolds before he pulled the motor to paint the engine bay?

Re: stock BB manifolds?

Any more info on the motor/heads? Cart or truck motor? Year of production? Any casting numbers?

Truthfully, it would be pretty easy to pull the manifold and have a peek. Even pull the carb, if you can see down the plenums.

Post a pic, if possible, of the current heads and manifold.

Re: stock BB manifolds?

they would fit, but you might ebay the Chevelle ones and pick you up a set of whatever you want with the money. Chevelle correct dated stuff brings good money. Trevor

They will bolt up but the collector will point the wrong direction and you won't be able to hook pipes up to it. I have 2 sets of big block manifolds if you're interested in a set PM me You know me from PT.net so you know I'm trustworthY aka hirdlej
