Bill and his Chevy Truck
Time has nearly stood still for my landlord Bill and his old Chevy half ton.
This year Bill is 87 and his truck, a youngster, is just 40. Though Bill has many miles, the truck is today sitting at just shy of 79,000. Both happy, healthy and active. Well over a decade ago, Bill sold me the original bed and replaced it with a custom flatbed. Back then he was running a busy cabinet shop and the flat bed spent most of its miles hauling supplies. After Bill retired, the truck has seen only occasional use but seems quite happy when it’s hauling gravel and the like...they both do, actually. Though both are retired, they’re still tinkering strong! Enjoy the pics and I’ll try to snag one of Bill when he comes in to get his beloved truck (it’s in for a clutch finally). I wish Bill, his C-10 and You and Yours a Very Merry Christmas! |
