Re: Ebay find.

Wow. Thats kind of rough for a CA truck. Sink another 15-20k in it and it could be real nice.

Not really. 38 years in CA and 3 in GA.

This is an Original 1968 Chevrolet short wheel base Golden Anniversary Edition factory 4 wheel drive truck. It is one of only 1446 short bed fleet side trucks built in 1968 with 4 wheel drive. It is even more rare with the anniversary edition paint combination.

The vin # decodes

K.............4 wheel drive

E............V8 engine (307)

14...........1/2 ton chassis

8..............1968

Z..............Fremont California assembly plant

1...............all trucks had

61832.........is the production number of the truck

The truck came from California to Georgia in 2006. Georgia does not title vehicles of this age but I do have the California Title.

Re: Ebay find.

Darn missed that part. But I do have a California car that has been in Michigan just a couple of years and started rusting.

Re: Ebay find.

Man that truck is pretty dang rough! Even if it is a 68 anniversary SWB 4x4, that seems pretty high on price.

Re: Ebay find.

California has quite a bit of coastline, complete with salt air... and some rigs, especially 4x4s, have spent time on the beaches (and in the surf). Plenty of opportunity for rust. The state has seen fit to salt the roads for snow & ice for many years, and now they are also using some sort of calcium chloride (or similar) de-icer which is corrosive.
