Rear Yoke has play in it, HELP PLEASE

I noticed that the rear yoke has about 1/4-1/2 side play in it, Should there be any movement,

If not, can I fix this problem,

Appreciate the help.

If your talking about play in the pinion shaft..no. If the yoke is loose on the pinion...may need to tighten the nut.. If pinion shaft moves that much..the bearing is most likely worn out. Would need to put a bearing and seal kit in it.. reshim the ring, and pinion lash.

Are you talking about "play" as in the yoke is actually loose or sloppy or are you talking about the ability to turn the driveshaft left and right about 1/2 inch? It is fairly normal to be able to turn the shaft a bit.
