Door assembly?
Right now my doors are bare shells all painted and ready to hang. Should I hang them bare and install all the glass and internals, or should I install all the internals and then hang the door?
Was thinking if I could lay the door down maybe installing everything would be easier, but then the door would be heavier and harder to align. Never done it before so??? Last edited by CG; 12-13-2009 at 02:17 PM. |

Re: Door assembly?
I would hang the door and install the internals on the truck. Thats pretty much the way its done on any vehicle just about anywhere

Re: Door assembly?
I did my assembly first and then hung it. But my truck is outside and I wanted to pull of my old crappy door and replace it with something complete. I never can tell how much time I will have and I did not want it rained on without a window or seals in place. If my truck were covered I would definatly consider it the other way. One door down , one to go. Then everything else.
Oh wait, take doors off, put cab on different frame then replace doors. Do projects ever go how you think the will?
