Bed cover question
Looking at a truck that has one of those snap on covers that snap on the outside of the upper part of the bed. How are these snaps put on the bed are they screwed into the bed or they fastned on in a temporary way? Not sure I want to buy a truck that's been drilled all around the bed.

Re: Bed cover question
then you better keep looking. all the ones I have seen are drilled and screwed. you could of course pull them and seal the holes and reinstall.

GREAT! Just what I figured!!!! Can't believe someone would do that to a truck. I just hate that look, don't get me wrong I like bed covers but there are some real nice ones you can get that you don't have to drill your bed with 50 holes!!!!

Re: Bed cover question
I installed one of those on my truck 15 + years ago because that's all they had back then. I also regret drilling all 52 holes because I had to weld them all up on my restoration.

Re: Bed cover question
The newer tonneau covers are mounted on snaps that ride on a rail.
The rails are held on the bed rail with brackets. Take a look, you might get lucky. . Last edited by ETsC10; 12-13-2009 at 11:06 PM. Reason: opps |
