rear axle length

anyone know what therear axle length in a 68 is, mightbe buying a mini tubbed 68 and what curious and how much the axle was cut down he said it measured 49in from backing plate to backing plate

A 68' should be 55-1/2 in. from inside to inside on the outer edge. In 70 they went to 56-3/4, thats why they make a good canidate for a 5 lug inner axle swap.

The flat part of the outer edge, but not up on the roll.
