radio speaker
Will it make a difference if the speaker to my radio does not touch the dash? The bracket I have for my new speaker is holding it in place but it does not hold it against the dash top. It will not rub or rattle but I was wondering because they usually mount right up against the dash top.

Re: radio speaker
thats ok as long as it will not rub or rattle. the sound will be the same as it would be with the speaker up tight to the underside of the speaker grill.

I agree. Give it a go... And to test it, maybe you can shim it.
I don't think that the metal dash will impart a better sound from the speaker. The majority of the sound coming off the speaker in that location is bounced off the windshield and some from below the dash. At least that's what it sound like on mine. |

Re: radio speaker
The speaker uses the top of the dash as a baffle. Low frequency reproduction will suffer if it is not tight against the dash. It's not all that important, I'm just telling you what I know.
