Door Wont Open

Old door latch wouldn't latch. Now the new one is on and the door wont open from inside or out!!! Whats the deal.

i dont think it is a rod on the inside because if that was it, it should still open from the outside.

Try giving it a good hard kick from the inside. Just fixed the stuck door on my 64 that way, after fiddling for an hour with the latch mechanism without finding a problem.

Took off outside door handle from inside of door. Got an old nutdriver... used a rubber mallot.. gave it a couple of good wacks and it came loose. But then the latch was stuck the toher way. took it out and used some white lithium spray grease on it and it works great now.

Sounds like the latch is out of adjustment...................
