Wiw- 75 swb 454

WIW- guys
factory 454 SWB, 2WD of course.
I don’t like the interior of the 75’s much but at least it’s all in good shape for a 75. new carpet, headliner and dash cap. truck is NOT original colors on repaint or interior. Repaint is a good darker red not the original year org/red. Also has a red interior. Facctory buckets (reupholsterd) & console. Truck is from dry state and in GREAT shape underneath. No patch work other than cab corners.
No great options cause none were available in 75. except it does have working A/C and PS- PB with bucket seats though on top of the First year Silverado trim. The body AND red paint is a strong 7 or 8 of 10 , they didn’t take all the little factory ripples out. Matching tonneau cover. ALL new chrome side trim but they didn’t tu-tone it. Rear roll pan. Dropped only 2” ,(why put it back on then, but ? ) , new front bumper.new fender emblems and silverado tailgate band.
Engine runs well with no noise or smoke. No history at all but I torture tested it on ride and it runs well. Shows 120K but musta been out by now. Engine has ALL factory equip including EGR valve. Does have headers and full 3” exhaust.
It has a few quirks that would not cost much to fix but it is an original 454 truck that is not patched or hacked up. It drives TIGHT and no wind whistles at 60MPH. (how?. Lol).
Keep in mind it’s this nice on the East coast where ANY nice, early SWB is not exactly growing on trees. I don’t think these trucks are 5 digit yet, But ???
Thanx , crossy

Dave it's really hard to call without pics. You gave a good description, so let me take a stab at it.

Since it doesn't have many bells or whistles inside, that knocks it down a bit. With a good 7-8 paint job, I'll go with 5500-6500 in your area.

Re: Wiw- 75 swb 454

Sounds like a really nice truck. Wish I could give a shot on price, but I really wouldn't even know where to begin. I know swb's around here are going anywhere from $3,500 to 8,000 in about the same condition. Again not being able to see it, just giving a shot in the dark.

Would love to see some pics of it. Are they selling it, or are you just trying to talk them into selling it?

Re: Wiw- 75 swb 454

crappy pics, but taken w/ cheap camera. i think Ken nailed it, but the guy wanted top dollar. W/o insulting him I recommended where he might advertise to get the money he wanted. we talked about tires 7 everything elsse. when he discoverd my true knowledge of these trucks he mentioned he really wanted it to go to someone that would give it a good home and appreciated what the truck is. i said for $XXXX i'll give it a good home and we both laughed it off. I'm NOT a tire kicker. He called me 4 days later. It now has a DECENT home. Don't know what i'm going to do with it,but wasn't going to let some local dealer get an original 454 A/C truck for a lowball. I dont know where i came up with the 120K miles cause the title and odometer both say 45K and the truck still has the original chrome on the whole front end including the UNpitted metal bezels and original bumper. I want an original grille now too cause this 78-79 grille makes opening the hood a pain. The kid likes the roll pan, but i'm not a kid. LOL. later & thanks. crossy

Re: Wiw- 75 swb 454

That think looks great . I wish that one was f.monroes truck also. When you get a chance , post lots of pics . It looks like a bunch of original items are still on it , including the early Rally wheel center caps .
Enjoy it .

Re: Wiw- 75 swb 454

well as you know the power windows & locks were not avail in 75. i wish it had tilt and Dual tanks, BUT-- i may look for a tilt and I KNOW I'll add the tach cluster. LOL. yes, it has the old round center caps, but has the wrong trim rings and you can't even see the rallys slots. I still havea full sest of mint trim rings for rallys, but thinkin this truck would great with Hopsters. I also have 17x9 torq thrusts round here somewhere. who knows. just want to keep it nice and fix a few quirks first. thanx , crossy

Nice truck Dave, I like it.

Not that it matters *and I am sure you know), but the front markers are "incorrect" as well.

Looks like a sweet truck man. Glad you gave it a good home. After seeing the pics Ken's estimate was a pretty good one. Like stated above make sure and get us lots of pics.

On the mileage do you think maybe the speedometer has been replaced?

Doubtful it's been replaced cause it is all the original 75 style gauges. the early trucks had different font and blue line. when i get it out i'll know more.

Re: Wiw- 75 swb 454

That's a heck of a score - very nice truck. With the red buckets and console, my first thought was 'the original 454SS'.

Re: Wiw- 75 swb 454

Daaang Dave, you done good. That looks about as clean as you can get for here. That's a huge find in your area.

I'll hold judgment on the roll pan till you decide what wheels to run. The Hopsters get my vote, but then again it's hard to argue against TT II's.

Only two things I see that it needs. A few inches cut off the exhaust tip, and relocated to my garage...
