Seat cover recommedations

The interior of my '79 is not a big priority at this point. I made what I think is a pretty decent repair to the original seat, but it involved some foam from an old chair, Gorilla Tape, pop rivets, some left over material from a tension-fabric building, etc. I make no apologies, but I figure with a nice seat cover on it, the repair won't even by noticeable, and my sons might quit giving me crap. I want a good quality, GOOD-FITTING, seat cover that will stay in place and last a while. I was looking at the saddle blanket covers in LMC. What have you guys tried?

Re: Seat cover recommedations

I have to agree with fat Hoe... these aftermarket seat covers dont last that long and seldom look good unless tailored to fit your truck specifically. Those run into as much money as a real one from Capt Kaos

Re: Seat cover recommedations

I've tried several of the ones available at auto parts stores, etc. Last one I had was a 1-piece for bench seat. That was in the $20 range, and probably the worst one I've ever had, as far as fit and durability. Currently have an unknown brand, but it is a 2-piece, and that fits MUCH tighter. It was nearing $40. Still has some issues, but my experience is, you tend to get what you pay for when it comes to seat covers. So far I'm liking the current one in my truck

I had not heard about these available thru a vendor on this site. I did shop some online and found some that looked very nice, but cost in the $100+ range, and I can't justify that kind of expense on my truck seat, personally. They did appear to fit real well, but i guess for big $$$ like that, it had better.

So, only real advice I can share is, don't expect a lot from a cheap one.

Re: Seat cover recommedations

This is probably going to be as much as I spend on upholstery on this truck for the next ten years, so I'm OK with spending a few bucks to get a good product. But I'm kind of old and computer illiterate and am having trouble locating Captkaos. Does he have a store or online catalog I can look at? Thanks for your help.
