edelbrock carb question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Just changed my intake and carb to a edelbrock performer and it has an electric choke-were is the best place to tie into to get power for the electric choke?I am new to these chevys and have no clue what to look for or tie into -Thanks for the help-
also what should i set the timing at?

You need to tap into keyed 12 volt for the choke. I would run a wire into the fuse box and find a circuit thet only gets power when the key is in the run position...

I ran mine off the winshield wiper motor.

i ran moine off of the oil pressure switch. that way if it loses power it will close the choke and kill the engine.

?? is that a 12V source?

I ran my last one off a keyed 12V signal as stated, you want to be able to turn the key on, wait a sec for the choke to adjust (especially in cold weather) and then crank...

it needs to go to a keyed 12 volt source off the fuse block. hacking into and taking power from other stuff is never a good idea. you guys are asking for electrical problems
