4 Headlights to 2

Happy Holidays to all early ! I have a 68 GMC that I converted over to a Chevy, Installed the core support and grill froma 67 chevy, finished off with a new pass side inner and outer fender to fix all the rust problems from a battery left in it for over 10 years. if I had to do it all over again I would have just used the repair patches for the core and pass side fender, but I do like the look of a chevy front end My question is how do I get the headlight to work ? All other componets work fine but I can't figure out how to rewire the 4 light down to 2............Thanks

Re: 4 Headlights to 2

You should just be able to cut the high beam plugs off of the harness. No other modification needed. WES

Thanks for the idea's but I have tryed everything I can think of with no luck ? No power when I plug the 7 inch sealed beams into either plug?
How would it work when there is two completely different circuts going to the original 4 seperate light bulbs ?...........Thanks

Re: 4 Headlights to 2

Check the dimmer switch to see if power is going out. They go bad being in the floor and exposed to the weather,,,rain, sand etc...

The connectors for the original 5 3/4" high/low (outer) lamps are wired exactly the same as 7" high/low lamps (ground, 12v high, 12v low), and will work (electrically) with either size high/low lamp.

The connectors for the original 5 3/4" high-only (inner) lamps are ground and 12v high. As noted above, remove them (cap the ends) or let them dangle.

Which are you missing at the lamp connectors -- 12vdc or ground? If the problem is not the dimmer, check the light switch (in the dash).

Re: 4 Headlights to 2

This may just confuse you, but if you remove the relays, here is a breakdown of the wireing. There is a blue wire(iirc)that feeds the dimmer.
