Re: Looking for info/owners of special edition trucks

WOW am I glad someone resurrected this thread.

Growing up in Oklahoma in the 1980s, Chevy and GMC trucks were king. I lived in a town of 600 people and there was a Beau James AND a Gentleman Jim in my highschool (I will look for an old yearbook photo of both). the GJ only came in the black and gold color, while the BJ was blue and silver. I also remember a "Black Gold" edition, though it could have been dealer installed.

In college i had a good friend with a "Mini 18" 1980 square headlight chevy, stepside w/ Chrome stacks and a 5.7 diesel. had curtains in the back like a trucker and air horns on the roof. factory aluminum wheels. am sure i do not have pics. would love to find another.

My truck is a 77 Bonanza 1/2 ton w/ a factory 454. it has PW PL tilt/cruise. being a bonanza it has carpet, no headliner and no carpet on the doors. the man i bought it from ordered it and it cost $7500! (i have the invoice). not an SE, but still rare....

keep em coming......

Re: Looking for info/owners of special edition trucks

OK all I was wondering if anyone knows of pics of the 77 GM Sarge edition. Here is what i got planned. I am thinking I am going to use the Desert Fox theme but was curious about the Sarge edition. I am currently deployed in Kosovo with the ND National Guard and I have a 94 GMC Yukon at home. I have pondered a lot for the last year o building not only a fallen soldier tribute truck but also a tribute to all soldiers so here is my plan. I want to use huge road armor style bumpers painted body color. Plus rocker protectors like those on the Tango and Cash Tahoe. Paint it Shiny Desert Tan and have a mural on the tailgate, headliner and possibly the hood. The rear side windows will use a tint that bares the names of the fallen soldiers that will only be able to be seen at an angle or if it is backlit during a show. With 6" of lift and Goodyear MT-R 37x17s with bead locked rims. The rims will be Desert Tan with polished beadlocks. On board air system with tire pressure monitoring system. Be fully outfitted with luxuries because as much as I would like to do a military theme us soldiers know how much it sucks to ride with military creature comforts . The undercarriage will be coated in Powdercoated Desert Tan. Polished Aluminum Grille. Black projector headlight with black side markers and park lights and black Altezza rear lights all disassembled and the black portions painted desert tan. I am also going to incorporate the blackout lights into it. For the 2 way I figured a CB with a 9 foot whip on a Military Mount. GPS. The works. Tell me what you think.
