My 63 build
Hi, I'm new here, but i must say, I have learned alot from this site, anyways...
I was recently givin a 1963 C-10 due to my friends parents divorce, and this will be my main build thread. She is a 1963 lwb fleet side w/ (originally a 292), i have yet to crawl under and check the frame tag so that is all i know at this point. Cureently she sits with a mid 70's 230-250 hooked to a 4 spd W/ granny-low. Ma wasnt too happy with me bringin home another vehicle, as im cureently takin up two stalls with the Camaro, so i didn't have the chance too work on her till tonight. I charged the battery all day, but it seems to be shot..( looked brand new tho). next thing i noticed was the oil needed to be changed, (as it was jet black) but on further inspection, there was gas in it, Im assuming that the carb musta over flowed, and leaked all the way down? The block semed fine ( i was worried it may have cracked withh that last cold spell), finally i did a once over on the body, theres rust in the passenger rocker, and rear cab corner but i got brand new patches from the P.O. all in all a great free truck! I'll try and gets some pics up in the morning. Last edited by 71Camaro; 12-24-2009 at 03:54 AM. Reason: spelling |

Re: My 63 build
Welcome to the forums from Kansas City, KS.
Save yourself from a trip under the truck...the frame ID will be the last 8 digits of the VIN and it will be located on the top flange of the driver side frame rail, just in front of the engine perch. I spray the area with WD-40 and use a foam sanding block to abrade the area. After wiping the area, the ID will be very clear. Post pictures soon. |
