4l80E transmission controller
A lot of us have swapped to a 700r4 trannie to get better mileage.
I also did this for my suburban but i like the option of a 4l80E in my suburban. Only the controllers make it expensive. After some searching on the web i found Baumann engeneering who sells a controller for only 400 dollar. Most competitors are almost twice that. The only thing is that i cant find much info or experiences on the shiftware tcs from them. Are there people here that have used the shiftware tcs? If not, what others would you recommend. these are the options. http://www.becontrols.com/products/products.htm http://www.powertraincontrolsolution...anscontrol.php http://www.compperformancegroupstore...TranController http://www.hgmelectronics.com/products/compushift

There's always the option to install a Transgo manual valve body. I think the kit runs about $235 on the interwebs.

Oke, but i'd rather use the automatic. And i think this shiftware for $400 does work quit well but i hope to see some reactions of people who uses it.

I thought I heard you could just run the computer from the donor vehicle?

Re: 4l80E transmission controller
I read on here on a few weeks ago about TCI, I think, maybe somebody else, that sells a different valve body so that the 4l80e or 4l60e could be hooked up like a 350 or 400. Try doing a search on here or google. I wish I would have known that info when I had a 4l80e.....

Re: 4l80E transmission controller
I did a lot of searching the past few days and downloaded the different programs from the differens companies.
Wat i found out is that the tci unit comes form pcs, it has miner changes to it and therefore not as tunable as the pcs controller. Bauman is a cheap sollution as well but does not have the extended featers of a tci/pcs. Bauman has a verry simple interface to program the controller, Looks a bit to simple to me. Although the price is half of the pcs, I think pcs is the way to go.
