1974, 350 4spd. 8 lug?

ok i am goin to look at said truck tommarow. heres the story. owner said he bought a farm but had to buy all that is on it. this truck happens to be on it. said it has not moved in a year but did run when purchased. has papers to prove that it is a tva service truck and had a huge 400 gallon water tank in the bed (that he already sold) and some 1/4in steel welded to bed floor from frong to rear and only has 34,000 miles. my question was there ever an 8 lug 2wd? even if it was a gov purchased vehicle. o and truck has gov tags on it. truck has never been registered or had insurance other than tva since it was bought to be a farm truck.

Yup, mines an 81 but it's a 2wd 8 lug. It's a 3/4 ton.

Engine HP/torque numbers were quite low from the factory in the early 70's due to changes in the way such numbers were measured and the inclusion of mandated emissions equipment......more real world realistic. This post reads as a good project truck.......needs pics.
