Re: electric window help

I cleaned and lubed the metal tracks and exposed gears of my manual window '85. Also sprayed the fabric tracks after I changed the window seals with silicone. They work like brand new. Before, they would hardly move without pushing and pulling them. Suggest you try the same, I was amazed of the difference. I also glued carpet to the inside of the doors to try to help the noise factor when they closed, but got minimal results. Good luck.

The grease gets petrified and contaminated with dirt then it doesn't work very well. Tracks and in the motor housing.

You could also have the problem I had on my old truck. The rollers were seized up so even with new grease they just drug across the tracks. If your rollers are rusted up you might be able to free them up with some work but it is probably easier to find a donor truck and snag a better set. That is what I ended up doing after fighting with trying to free up the rusted ones on mine.
