reproduction Big block Motor stands

With all our vendor brotheren out there has nobody thought about reproducing The big block motor stands? I need a set but I have a hard time coughing up an arm and a leg for a set of them. I really don't want to fab up mounts but dang, you would think BB motor stands were as rare as tow hooks and hens teeth!

Any body heard of re-pop plans for them, or a good alternative?

i kinda remember a thread on a substitute but my searches didn't find it.(probably used wrong key words)

Re: reproduction Big block Motor stands

The 68-71 stands were still available from Gm and still cheap considering, it is the rubbers that are expensive for that particular set. The 72 versions are expensive as stands, but the rubbers are cheap. You can use regular small block rubbers in place of the 71 down sets as save money but will not technically correct. There is a member texasfirefighter that has done this several times and I "think" there is a FAQ on this. ou can also use small block stands but you have to cut them up to fit the manifolds/headers. There are some good looking setups from DIY to install in 4x4 some them may have something for a 2x4 as well.

3999953 67-71 396/402 LH ENGINE FRAME BRACKET
GM Wholesale$62.39 GM Retail $105.23

3999954 67-71 396/402 RH ENGINE FRAME BRACKET
GM Wholesale$60.93 GM Retail$102.78
www.gmpartsdirect.com , they charge a percentage of the sale price for shipping, you would be looking at a parts total of $123.32 and $29.35 shipping
total delivered price $152.67 outside NC, residents of NC would have sales tax and total cost $162.23

Uh guys,I got a question. One of the kind that makes ya think or tell me I'm full of it.
Weren't there quite a few big trucks C-40 and up with the BB engine.I'm just wondering if anyone ever compared them to a PU mount?

Re: reproduction Big block Motor stands

C40's & larger used a 4- point mounting. They had 2 mounts at the bellhousing, and 2 on a "horseshoe" mount attached to the front face of the block.

I lent a pair of '72 mounts to a board member to copy in an effort to reproduce them. I think he decided it wasn't cost effective to make, with used ones readily available for about $150.
