I have been looking for a Blazer and I see some of them listed as V10. I was wondering what that is.

a v 10 is the size of the motor its five cylinders per side like a v8 has four, except of course theres ten cylinders instead of eight

I know what a V 10 motor is, I am talking about a V10 Blazer. like this ad reads "1987 Chevrolet V10 Blazer 4WD" it has a 350 motor in it. See http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/noframes/4026.shtml

Show they have 5.7 liter v8 in them.

No b/c they make a T10. I think a few years they called the full size blazer a V10 and a s-10 blazer that is 4wd a T10 in like 87 and 88. but I am not sure. In 89 they went to V1500 and s-10 blazer.

It also says a blazer was either 4WD or AWD. Uh... I don't think GM knew what AWD was yet in 87!

In 87 GM started calling what used to be K10's, V10's. C10's were designated as R10's.

Ervin has hit the nail right on the head! When GM was running 2 diffrent styles of truck bodys at the same time, they changed the the suburbans and 1 ton trucks to the R & V body line. Then in 92 suburbans and 1 ton trucks became C & K again. ALso, I belive that blazers stayed K5's. Because they also did not change untill 92.

88-91 blazers are listed officially V-5 like the crewcabs/suburbans etc were R or V. The body emblems however say either K5 or K1500 (regardless of whether a chevy or gmc, depending on the year). I know my local dealer can't find any parts if i just ask for a 1990 K5 blazer parts because they look at K-series data sheets, and i always have to correct them to look for a V-5.
