Re: Help with new vent window rubber
Benntn, is there any particular reason why you went with Brothers as opposed to LMC's 2 piece seals? Also, do they look the same as the originals, because the 1 piece ones clearly do not fit, eventhough I installed them anyway!
I'm guessing that 2 piece units must be replaced with 2 piece units! |

Re: Help with new vent window rubber
On my 78 the PO cut the vent window seal to route a CB radio antenna cable through. After I removed the CB I now have a hole in my vent window seal.
I have another driver side door from an 87. Can I get the 87's vent window assembly out and into the 78 door without having to remove the seals from it?

Re: Help with new vent window rubber
For what its worth, back in 03 I put new seals in my 86. First I bought some from LMC. (one piece) and after fighting with them for a while I called the Chevy dealer and got new OEM ones. The GM ones were not any better and I believe I ended up using the LMC ones. It was a pain but well worth it.

Re: Help with new vent window rubber
Makes those one-piece windows sound even better doesn't it.

Re: Help with new vent window rubber
Man... I have two of those LMC one-piece seals waiting in the garage for the 81 C2500. Along with a TH400 to rebuild that will be a first for me..... I think I'll start with the TH400

Re: Help with new vent window rubber
No, I'd say spelling and or basic grammar are your major foes.
The worst part of this job is getting the L shaped gasket fully seated in the corner. Liquid soap helps, but only so much. I use a hex head bolt in a vise for a buck when doing the gasket rivets. Order an extra set. For the price, it is nice to have spares on hand in case things go south, esp. the pivots.
