GMC Tailgate Band on a Chevy???
Has anyone modded a GMC tailgate band and put it on a Chevy? I'm looking for ideas. I have recently bought a GMC tailgate band from KrazyRay. I'm thinking that I could get a brushed, polished or powder coated piece of stainless to go behind the Chevy logo as kind of a shadow effect and just put it over the holes the GMC logo will leave once removed. That is unless the Chevy logo wll hide all the GMC logo holes.

I have a GMC band on my Chevy. I used a 1996-1998 Chevrolet C/K tailgate emblem to cover the GMC holes. Nobody has ever noticed the emblem is on the wrong side for a Chevy. GMC emblems are on the left while Chevrolet is on the right....as we all know
 This band is actually a 81-87 band on a 1978 tailgate. It doesn't fit perfectly but close enough where nobody has noticed or said anything.

im glad i stumbled on this. that would explain why i have never seen another band like mine:
 i know now that its a gmc band with a chevy emblem. im thinking about getting a blazer band and relocating my handle. and fyi, that emblem you have was first used in 98 |

yes it does, i got the tailgate with the gmc band from my boss who got the truck in march. at that time i didnt know the band was from a gmc and was wondering why my emblem was on the left. then today i stumbled onto this thread and there was my answer
