Anyone bought a truck back?

So about 2 years ago I sold this truck I owned it since 1996 and it pretty much sat in the garage. I maybe drove it 300 miles a year. The guy I sold it to called me few months back and offered it to me quite a bit cheaper then I sold it to him.

So my dilema is: I would really like the truck back but, priorities have changed. I would hate to kick myself in a few years for not getting it back. So with the way the economy is do you suck it up and stretch yourself to buy it back or just leave it and consider it "been there done that"?

What do you guys think?

Re: Anyone bought a truck back?

I've bought a truck back. Sold it to a guy and ended up getting an offer to trade it back. Since I didn't want to sell it the first time, I was happy to own it again and be able to finish it up to what I originally wanted to do.

Then, well I had to end up selling it again. Much harder than the first time to let it go a second.

If you can keep it, and get it out--or, if the truck had a lot of sentimental value that you won't find in another one, what's it hurt if you can buy it back?

Re: Anyone bought a truck back?

I have bought a few back before, I probably didn't put in the correct title. Its one of those things I didn't drive it much when I had so now its a "want" you know.

Re: Anyone bought a truck back?

Only u can decide if u want that truck back but it looks beautiful. U will need to look at your priorities, finances and goals for the future before u make that decision.

Do u have more pics that u can post?!

Re: Anyone bought a truck back?

Wow, she looks nice. Is it original or restored? How many miles? why did u sell it in the first place? Do u have other cars/trucks?

I have 3 of my own cars and i am currently restoring my dad's truck. I am always thinking of selling 1 car bc I am always fixing something but when it comes down to it, I really loved these cars and that's why i bought them! Just didnt realize how much work, attention, money and patience they would require! But when I drive them and see how people react, this gives me pleasure & a sense of accomplishment! And I know that I would regret selling.

Re: Anyone bought a truck back?

It is basically original. It has/had 112,000 original miles. I sold it because it sat and I rarely drove it.

I have have other vehicles:
1998 K3500 Reg cab single wheel
1994 K2500 454 suburban
1979 K20 silverado
and the reason I sold it was to buy a boat...which I did.

I think I have answered my question. Thanks for the responses. I will let you guys know if I make the deal.

Re: Anyone bought a truck back?

I would.... I wish I had my old 77 back now and then, but I used to see it near work and saw how the new owner hacked/ruined/screwed it up, so While I'd like it back like it was, I wouldn't take it back now...

Re: Anyone bought a truck back?

I have bought and sold a few and bought a couple back . Usually not as gratifying the second time around . As to your delima , trhat is a beautiful one ton . I would love to have that in my garage . But...................I am pretty sure it wont fit in my standard height door . If it is still in that condition , it wouldnt hurt to owen it again . It is the best looking 4x4 square I have seen in a while , maybe ever .

Re: Anyone bought a truck back?

I bought back my '72 El Camino. I thought it was a great idea at the time. Lot of memories, but the guy I sold it to parted out the rims, drivetrain, and interior. That good lookin' red truck is immaculate and I bet you could drive it everyday if you wanted. I say make it your daily-driver.

Damn awesome looking truck man! I wouldn't think about it twice. If he hasn't done anything dumb to it and you can get it back cheaper with out breaking the bank I would defiantly do it

I'm optimistic... maybe he lives 5 miles or less from his job. His commute may only cost him a gallon or two of fuel
