Picked up some leather buckets for the truck
Our local pick n pull place had a 50% off sale today so I went early this morning.
My main goal was a set of leather S-10 blazer buckets for my S-10, which I did score for $35. I only need to do a little touch up to the driver's seat and they're ready to go in my truck as is, they're even the right color I've been a couple times already and no luck on the seats until today I'd seen these when I came in but hadn't really thought about taking them until I was on my way out and I decided to sit in them. They were in a 98-ish suburban. 30 seconds of sitting in them and I knew they had to go into my truck. They are full power, with heaters, on BOTH sides. I plan to keep all of that functional. I paid $44 for these. The price difference was some BS with the brackets being power? Only one S-10 seat was power and both 'Burb seats were. The PS seat could actually clean up and go in the truck, but the DS seat has a few tears and some heavy wear marks in the leather. However, there are quite a few very affordable seat cover options for these seats. The important part for me is that the seats started out as leather, they're just so much more comfy than cloth, so even if I get the synthetic covers, they'll still feel great on the old back and butt. My current seat is torn needs a new cover and hurts my back on long trips, and for less than the cost of a new factory style cover, I'll have some super comfortable seats Yes, my garage is very nasty, I've been cutting baseboards and trim for my house, makes a big mess.

Very nice score! Wish there were still a salvage yard here that you could just browse and find what you need. Sadly the one that was here crushed everything they had, sad day. They had alot of older rigs too. I think they ended up getting like 6 million dollars for the lot of em.

Re: Picked up some leather buckets for the truck
You mean out of a 99+? I've been looking on/off for the past several years for a set for my 00 Z71. I've found quite a few, but I'm not ready to pay $5-600+ and if I am going to pay that much, they need to be the charcoal color too.
I think I'm going to go with a darker gray or black seat color with a "factory" console in the middle. The 'burb had a decent console, but I don't think it would have looked right at all. Yes Rob, still plugging along on the house. It's looking pretty sweet.

Yeah that's what i want.Around here seats are cheap at some places, but they leave them out in the weather. This week I was at 2 places looking for seats and both places said $150 for a set. But the seats at both places had snow drifts on them!Ridiculous! I only found 1 in leather- it was charcoal, power, and real nice condition, but had the built in console, not the flip down so I passed. I want the 3rd seat.I would consider cloth if i could find the right color cuz I'm needing them real quick. The color will determine how the rest of my interior goes back toether.

Re: Picked up some leather buckets for the truck
I would actually rather keep a factory looking bench seat, but with as much as I like to drive the truck, the comfort is going to be a welcomed change.
I'm knocking on 30's door. I messed my back up pretty bad in my early 20's thinking I was cool snowboarding. I should have practiced a lot more before going as fast as I could down a hill. I wiped out, stuck the end of the board in the snow somehow, causing me to fly awardly over the board with my feet still attached in it, which caused my back to twist violently and extremely, but I was kinda OK when I got up. 3 or 4 hours later my dad had to almost carry me into the emergency room. I was on some serious pain killers for almost 2 weeks and it took me almost a month before I could walk 100% pain free again. The Dr's said it was a severe muscle strain. I "throw it out" a couple times a year lifting stuff I shouldn't, it will hurt for a couple days and go away. I haven't touched a snowboard since that day. Quote:
You find yourself a new truck or burb yet?
