Re: Picked up another one...

How did I miss this post!

Nice score - especially for the price. plenty of stuff there to work with for sure.

If I had a trade for a few parts for a blazer carcass I would do the same thing.

Curious to see the pix/progress as you move forward.

Congrats!

It might be original, not sure. But it fits good.

The price was definitely right, but I spent $50 for the trailer, another $50 or so for gas, the fenders originally cost me over $200, so not as cheap as it seems.

I took some time to look it over today and I think I really got a winner. The rear floor is almost rust free. The problem areas are the cut dash for radio and the rusty windshield frame, inner rocker on pass side, probably the same on the drivers, some rust and dents in the rear quarters. Looks like I could replace the windshield frame and swap the body over to the Jimmy. The frame is cracked, but also rusted through on the driver side over the axle. The doors are rusty on the bottoms, repairable, but not sure they are worth it. The rear seat is a recovered original, without the hold down brackets. All of the lights are there and look like they work.

Should be an interesting summer.

I'm glad someone can use whats left. Time and money ended my dream of owning two old trucks. Someday I'll kick myself.

You still have one that will make a stout wheeler. If you want another blazer you'll be able to find one that's a better start than this one was.

I was looking the frame over a bit today and figured out why the frame bent and cracked. When the lift kit was put in, the shocks were not long enough, so they made some brackets to lower the shock mount rather than buy the right shocks. Too much stress in the bottom of the frame because there was no good support. The passenger side is cracked there and the driver side is bent and corroded and would have broke eventually. Did you know the rear differential was dry?
