4 link install

so I am going to install a a triangulated 4 link on the blazer. I was thinking about intalling while the leaf spirngs were still attached with a flip kit and just going to the inside. Would this be ok, and should you intall the 4 link at ride height? or laid out? I just think if I were to intall this with the leaf springs on, it would limit the possibility of getting the rear end off center.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 4 link install

this is what i am doing, i bagged it with my leafs in, at ride height, measure from the front mount of the leaf to the center of the rear end and see where I can run a brace across the top of my frame and mount the upper bars and get that measurement and then order them from SD. oh and the top bars will be adjustable so i can set the pinion angle.

Re: 4 link install

Ok, cool, sounds like a plan, but can I mount the bottom bars on the inside without problems? Or can I mount the bottom bars in the existing front leaf spring hangers with slight mods.

Re: 4 link install

if you do it on the inside you will have to box the frame where the mount will be, you can put it in the same mount for the front of the leaf with no prob and just weld the tabs on the rear axle for the other mount

Re: 4 link install

Sweet! This makes life easy. I will measure it out and order it. Then I will do the inside top bars first. Then mount the bottom bars in the hanger weld it to the axle and call it a day!

Thank you so much, I can see cleary now.

Re: 4 link install

Just make sure that your 4 link is as close to parallel with the ground as possible at ride height.

Hey justpball, do you have a pic of the frame mount for the lower bar in that setup you showed?
